Homeless and On the Move, Intro

June 28, 2009

Why do I do what I do?
It is a calling and anointing. Jesus compells me to go to love, even the least of these. I do truly love them, no matter who or why they may be homeless.
I too have been poor but I have never had to be on the streets begging for food, or seeking shelter. I have had to start all over again from square one. I know how they may feel. I know that God will provide. I know that I am blessed to be a blessing.
I have some great friends and young men who go out to share the love of Christ with me. These are; Caleb Carmouche, Branden and Jared Lusk, Jordan Earles, Paul Ruiz, and Zack Foxx, more recently Chris Lowery and Daniel Adler. I love these young men and we do it just to show the love of Christ in a practical way. We do not do it because it is the, “In Thing,” to do or to get another notch in our spiritual belt. They know us and they trust us or at least those who have gotten to meet us.

Homeless and On the Move.

Homeless and On the Move will be the title of my book. Excerpts will posted weekly along with some random ideas of how to reach those who are homeless. Why we do what we do. Homeless are searching for food, sleeping neccesities and things to keep them from life’s battles. We go to show the love of Christ in a practical way, to bring them food, water, and most important the Love of God, through His word.

Look who’s back posting it up.

Wow, such a long time to be away from posting on my blog but now I am back.  On the Move means so much more than just the song.  On the Move is now becoming a book about the struggle of the Homeless.  Here in Baton Rouge, La. over the last 8 months I have really seen how tough it is for the homeless to do what they do in a day to day life.

Me, Mark, along with several of my boys; Caleb, Jared, Chris Lowery, Brandon Lusk, Zack Foxx. and others  are trying  to make a positive difference in the way homeless  live their lives.  We go out on Saturday nights, bring clothes, food, medical needs, and what ever else they may truly need to live.  We have met so many.
So stay updated as in the next few weeks and months I  will be posting  excerpts from Homeless and On the Move.
