Impact LG is on

September 15, 2007 by kogiaman

For my Impact LG bros, Impact is on.  We are meeting Sunday afternoons 2;30pm at Momma Margaretts home, call for directions.   Last week, Tanner Scheaffer joined us and this week it looks to grow.  Talkin to several guys and looking to do a video promo of it.  It will be funny. and maybe a lil serius.

God is doing some great things in and around D-town.  By the way, D-town football Griffins beat B-more bad, like 56-14 bad.  Looks good for the Griffs.  I got to be somewhat part of the student section.  I like y’all.  Crazy, a lil rowdy but fun.  I loosened up in the end and even got with some of the songs the band played.  Another by the way, is our boy Caleb rocked it.  Great job.

Next week look to be at Parkview Baptist to watch them or maybe back at D-town, I do like them.

As far as Refuge and Impact, next weekend we have Servolution and takin Baton Rouge by storm, also part of this is EPIC weekend.  Sign up now.

What a week!!!

September 7, 2007 by kogiaman

This has been the fastest yet fullest week so far into the fall.  I mean its already Thursday night.  I look back on the week and seeing my boy T-Berry off to Illinios onh Sunday, chattin with Matt Lebrun and Ms Margarett on Sunday night, Monday was time with Jordan and Ryan Earles, and then Tuesday was just a freeky T-Storm wantin to light me up with not one but two lightning bolts back to back.  I thought they struck the church cuz all went white on me.  It sounded like two cruise missles hittin.  So loud and so close.  I thought I might have had an accident.

Wednesday night was One Way Worship night with my friends and bros in Refuge.  The HPC Woship team lit it up and did awesome.  God was there for sure.

Thursday morning it started with The Uprising at D-town, Ryan Fontenot led and did a great job talkin of being a warrior for Christ.  Then it was to HPC for setting up for HPC Experience Staff Development, slammin time of the word from Pastor Dino and strong worship.  Then off to NO for to pick up the Peru Relief team flying in.  Strong stories of God’s grace and strength for them.  Finally to the soccer game and watching my players play their hearts out. There were a couple injuries but all got back in the game and kept playin.  Kids are so resiliant. Barton P came by and checked us out and left a Jersey of his for one of the most humlbe kids we have. Mr. Lucas Kelly,  He reminds me so much of the young boy in the movie, Power of One.  So humble and ready to live.  What a week. and to think it aint over yet.  A football game tomorrow night and Soccer Saturday morning then gettin with my boy Jamie Saturday night, Jordan Friday night at Salsaritas.  Play it bro and preach it.

Much love and On the Move

Prayer, Prayer, Prayer

August 21, 2007 by kogiaman

It’s been hitten me hard lately, all the books I am reading right now have something to do with prayer.  It wouldn’t be just cuz I got them from the 24/7 Prayer website.  Check out the site, but check out the titles of these,  Punk Monk,  Writing on the Wall and God on Mute.

I got Punk Monk and Writing on the Wall after some months from reading Red Moon Rising, another phenominal book,  Pete Grieg is amazing.  Just to let ya know I stumbled onto these after seeing Red Moon Rising in our 24/7 Prayer room back in Feb-April.  Jason Laird had it first.

Prayer is the answer even when we don’t hear or see an answer right away.  God is still there and we must trust him in everyway we can.

Some prayer requests right now,  then check out Matt 18:19-20.

My truck is dying,  need a new one soon that I can afford.

Writings to become published sometime to begin fund-raising for 08 Missions trip to wherever God sends me.

Music to be put into tracks sometime soon for same reason

Continue to disciple my boys.    Jamie,  Jordan, T-berr, Matt L, and Musso

My friend Bryan Gossett needs direction for new job or to get a huge jinormous raise that He needs for supporting his family

All for now

Okay, the Update

July 20, 2007 by kogiaman

I just now got convicted by the Holy Ghost, cuz i was a lil aggrivated that my boy T-Berry had not posted in a lil while, well guess who else has been slackin?  Yeah me.  Well here is an update.

After getting back from Submerge,  recovering from 4th of July and VBS  I have been moving here and there.  I  home sat for Gena and Toby Bohl,  stayed a few more days lookin for the next avaiable living quarters, then I talked to my friend Mr. Patrick Cox,  no relation to Cox Cable or that haha.  And just this week my good friend and former roommate Blake Prudhoumme asked me if I want to get an aparty with him.  He quickly got on the ball and started lookin, which is better than me.  I have become a procrastinator,  I hate that.  Anyway we got one today and it is nice.  Just about 10 minutes to the church.  Better yet, it is in-expensive.  $600.00 rent for a two bdrm.  It will be nice gettin my flag back on the wall and my mattress to sleep on with a decent place to keep my clothes and all.  It will be home again.

In other news.  yeah I just keep puttin out the songs and poems.  I have just recently written four.  Lyrics that it.  I have the tune in my head, but here are some titles and a few lines.

One,  not u2’s but from Ephesians 4

Searching, a rock song

Hope,  it is for our Hope Cambodia missions thrust.

I do have a couple U2 type songs

On the Move, which this blog is named after and my life story, haha.

Lay it down.  just a lil poetic licence to change up some words, but all credit to Bono and U2 for the thoughts and the tune.  Just from Love and War.

That is it. Til lata

Fourth of July memories

July 4, 2007 by kogiaman

The Independance of our Nation.  the Revolutionary War.  Fireworks, the Flag of the United States of America.  This is what we think of when 4th of July comes to our minds, Oh yeah, sometimes, summer trips, times with family, baseball games and Wimbeldon.  WOW.

My memories are of my family, my parents, my father Mitch E McLaughlin who passed away on July 4th of 90.  He died in his sleep of a massive heart attack  He was great.  I will never forgot all he sacrificed for our family.  A lil history of Mitch E McLaughlin,  He was born in 1932 on April 14th.  He graduated from High School only to go into being a marine with WWII.  He landed at Nagasaki and Hiroshima after the bomb.  He lived and survived many years.  He married my mom, Priscilla A Moore in June 11th of 1952,  They had a great and wonderful marriage.  I thank God for growing up in a strong home.  I came along in October 5th of 1965, yeah, I’m older than y’all but, I am definitly young in my mind and heart.    I remember my parents taking me on a mountain climbing trip just weeks after my broth Jim accidently broke my finger and a lil of my wrist. oh well.  We went mountain climbing up some tough paths, only to find the place that we were hoping to eat lunch at burned to the ground.  Oops. plan B, sack lunches.

We moved to Texas just a few years later and that is where I grew up the most, went to grade school, Junior High and high School.  We had storms come through but we faired well.  I got to see my dad in action alot and he got me where I was to have the most fun,  Sports and sports. I began working with my High School football team at first.  My mom and dad came to most every game.  Home or away.    I graduated from High School and started college where my sister was going at Sam Houston State, then I transferred to Alvin Community College and finally to East Texas Baptist University.   The summer just before my senior year.  I was working at a camp, when on the 4th of july, my boss called me over, early after breakfast to break the news of my dad’s passing.  I was crushed but I went home briefly for his funeral.  I had to be the strong one.  my sister loved my dad greatly and would miss him the most.  I could only comfort and consoul her.

Heidi and I would begin to be the best of friends, whereas before we would fight like cats and dogs.  yeah messy.

I know that my parents are with Christ, they shared Christ with me along with our Pastor and the childrens pastor.  I am my parents and sister would be baptised just a week after I became a Christian.  Thank God for great and loving parents.

Living what ya preach

July 4, 2007 by kogiaman

Yeah, sometimes its hard to do but living what ya preach has its bonuses when ya do it.  I just finished emailing my boys and friends my latest installment of my series, Live Life on Faith,  Faith to Move.  Well, I am doing this, literally.  Moving here and there, haha.  Stepping out in faith to find a new home.  A place to call home and live for awhile.  Where I am now, is staying at the Bohl’s house, House sitting and dog sitting.  Keeping their boxer, tiffany company while relaxing and waiting to see where he will lead next.

I pray that God will continue to bless my writings and that I keep my annointing safe from the attacks of the enemy.  I have written much this summer.  Devos, songs, poems and other stuff.  WOW,  I really want to continue to see God use me here and prepare me to go and share Christ with others, wherever he desires.  I really hope to do missions in the future.   If it be in Brazil, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, or Aussie some day,  I long to go and do what and where He shows me.

Keep moving with Him, its the only way to go.

Submerge, How to describe it?

July 2, 2007 by kogiaman

Well I am back from Destin and Submerge, did ya miss me?  Prolly not cuz those who read this are most likely at Submerge, except for those out of state and out of country.

Submerge, How to describe it justly?  Awesome. totally awesome.  Great time with my boys.  I had the Seniors and those just graditated.  Jordan G, Micky M, Cody B, the two Phillips, Leblanc and Kelly, or as we  call him, Philly Cheese Steak, Salem, and Jake Prewitt.  Great guys.

The services were really good,  the food, yeah okay, but we did have an upgrade to make our own for lunch and breakfast.  By the way Phillip and Jake were baptized Saturday morning and so was my other phone, haha.

Rev Spike did great and worhsip was slamming.  Friday night was too awesome to describe, Prayer, prayer, prayer. more worship. more prayer.  We prayed for stuff to be released, to go deeper, higher and to move forward.  We prayed for the souls of those coming to Christ.  We prayed over the kids, young men and women to start and uprising.   We prayed for our leaders, youth pastors and worship leaders. God was doing great things.    He still will, Keep following Him, Stay on the move with Him.

When we were not in service or eating or sleeping, oh yeah our villa was truly great, pics coming soon.  We went bike riding all over the huge campus.   Way too big.  Went to the beach, of course and then went and checked out these huge yaughts.  Way too much money to spend on one thing.

Life is good, now where am I gonnna live next?  Time will tell.

Submerge, starts Now…

June 27, 2007 by kogiaman

We are here, the day has come.  Submerge is starting Now.  I woke up at 5:05am and got in the shower.  Did the clean thing, and got dressed, I was already packed.  I just needed to do some last minute stuffing.

After leaving the apartment to go to the Annex, dropped off my bags, had to go by Highland Campus to get some Ice for the drinks and now here I am.  What a day this will be.  I am soo amped, stoked and other type terms.  We will be at the beach in 9 hours.

Last night I wrote another song, Dreaming of the Day.  It is most definitly a love song to my Savior, but it is also of waiting to go do some missions stuff and dreaming of the day when I will be with Him forever.  Its pretty cool.

Life is Good.  San Destin here we come.

I have gotten to spend time with my boy, Jordan Earles before going to Submerge.  He wanted to go but things came up.  Ryan will be with us though.  I had dinner with the two of them on Friday night at Los Palmos.  It was great.  a great time hearing of their hopes, the game they had just played and won against St.John’s of Plaquimine.  Great job guys.

Alot has been happnin lately.  I have been able to share Christ a lil with my neighbor Armando.  He is from Honduras.  Saturday morning I was out by the pool and he came out we looked over the Bible alot.  I hope to get one for him soon.  A Spanish one for he and myself too.  What a time.  After I leave here I am lookiing to go to Blue Bayou water park and see my boy Lance.  I also we be hittin the slides and glides. haha.

June 22, 2007 by kogiaman

G’day mates,

Hey I am only 5 days out from heading to Destin, FL, for Submerge.  Gonna be slammin.  But tonite we have NexGen.  a night of prayer and worship for Refuge.  We will be by the new HPC Arena.  What a night.

Hey got to chat with my mate from Jaxy just last night and hearing his great British accent.  Ed is one cool drummer cat.  Yeah I called him while out at the pool. Chillin and gettin grillin on me.  It was kinda toasty.  I felt good going in though.  I am gettin kinda dark.

One big prayer request though, is that I find a new home soon.  It’s gettin to that point.  Only a few days til I will be out.  Homeless.  That’s alright I know others who were homeless as well, Jesus, Peter, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Well why not join the out crowd, I mean in crowd that is out.

Livin under the stars.  Seeing God close up.

Keep it cool and keep followin Jesus.
